CCA'S ADULT HEALTH CENTER PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE, LOW COST MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE TO THE WORKING POOR LIVING ACROSS DENTON COUNTY, AS WELL AS CCA'S ENTIRE SERVICE AREA.

The center was established in September 1999 due to a glaring need for affordable health care for the uninsured and underinsured. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Texas has the highest percentage of uninsured residents in the nation. CCA's Adult Health Center addresses the need for affordable primary and preventative health care by offering a range of services.

Internal medicine and family practice providers assist with a variety of services:

Treatment of acute non-emergency illnesses, chronic diseases, high blood pressure, respiratory ailments, heart disease and diabetes
Well-woman exams, pap smears, EKG readings and physical exams
Dispensing antibiotic, immunization and steroid therapies
Free or nominal fee for lab work/medications, and free medical supplies/equipment (except diabetic test strips)

Patients are seen by appointment. Referrals to area-specialists are made as necessary. Our services include:

Medical
Chiropractic and massage therapy for pain management
Dental services such as fillings, root canals and extractions
Dental Sealant program available for children only
Diabetic and nutritional education
Dispensary of medication
Health and wellness education
Immunizations such as flu, pneumavax, etc.
Laboratory
Medication Assistance Program (MAP)
Optometry services to include: prescription eyeglasses, vision screenings, eye trauma, diabetic retinopathy and other eye disorders
Women's health care including Pap tests and annual exams (excludes maternity care)

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
