The Adult Medical Center at San Francisco General Hospital is an ambulatory care facility providing comprehensive primary care and medical specialty services to persons over eighteen years of age. Patients are seen for purposes of receiving primary medical care or on referral to specialty clinics for evaluation of severe pathology resistant to standard care.
Primary medical care is provided in the General Medical Clinic (located in the 1M clinic in the SFGH main campus building) with ten half-day clinics each week, and five medical screening clinic sessions are held each week.
Medical specialty care includes cardiology, dermatology, renal, rheumatology, chest, diabetes, endocrine, pain consultation, and behavioral medicine.
