Healthcare is an enormous concern in our Hilltop community.
The Greater Hilltop Area is one of the lowest in the state as far as dental health care access - there are approximately 12,000 Hilltop residents per dentist!
Mental health funding has been slashed dramatically in recent years and people going through divorce, grief and stressful situations often have nowhere to turn.
Chronic illness care, regular medical check-ups, and preventive care are a continued need for residents of all ages.
How is the Zone addressing these concerns?
Counseling and Mental Health:
A new pro-bono counseling program has started in Franklin County, with a location at Crossroads United Methodist Church on the Hilltop, partnering with Mental Health America to offer a safe place where people can meet with a counselor and receive coffee and friendly hospitality from a volunteer.
Call Crossroads church at 614-274-4920 for more information, or contact Mental Health America Director Jennifer Martinez or visit www.mhafc.org.
