COST OF SERVICES
Patients are asked to contribute toward the cost of their medical visit. For any low-income resident, the co-pay is nominal. This co-pay includes physical exams, labs, screenings, etc. In over 45 years of serving the low-income adult residents of Montgomery County, we have never turned away a patient for inability to pay.
MobileMed provides all of its patients with a full array of primary care services including physical exams, screenings, labs, vaccinations, medications, integrated behavioral health (including counseling), arrangements for diagnostic testing, and referrals to specialty care, if necessary.
In addition, a disproportionate number of our patients suffer from multiple chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension and asthma. For these individuals, access to disease management services is critical. MobileMed proactively helps these patients monitor and manage their chronic conditions. Services for these patients include consistent care;
regular screenings for complications; a coordinated health care plan; arrangements for no/low-cost medications; support management and oversight; patient education and coaching geared toward self-reliance; access to specialty care, if necessary. Case management focuses on empowerment, emphasizing lifestyle changes such as nutrition and weight loss, smoking cessation, and exercise.
Our in-house specialty services feature weekly Endocrine and Heart clinics, a weekly women's clinic with primary gynecological care, and weekly podiatry and optometry for diabetic patients. For uninsured patients that need specialty care that we do not provide in-house, we refer those patients to one of our community partners through Project Access or Catholic Charities. Our hospital partners, Adventist HealthCare (Shady Grove Adventist and Washington Adventist) and Suburban Hospital, along with their physician partners, donate substantial diagnostic laboratory, radiology, and cardiac testing for MobileMed's uninsured patients.
Since this is a sliding fee scale clinic, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Mobile Medical Care - Ibn Sina Clinic website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care.
Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2022
|Persons In Family Household||Poverty Guideline Salary per year|
For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
