The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission is a family clinic, and our two full-time physicians serve as general practitioners for our patients. Our services are available to people who do not have private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare.

After our patients have met with our program director and have qualified for our services based on household income level, they receive an appointment to see one of the physicians. From that point on, the patients will see the same physician each time they make an appointment. This allows for a continuity of care and for a strong patient-physician relationship to form. Our two physicians and three medical assistants see 40-50 patients each day.

Mission Services
Medical
The Presbyterian Medical Care Mission provides access to primary medical care for low-income and uninsured adults, ages 18 - 64. Patients who have private health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, do not qualify for services. Our medical staff includes one physician, one physician assistant and two family nurse practitioners. In addition to our professional staff, the Mission is blessed to have five volunteer physician specialists who donate their services periodically for our patients. Areas of specialization include the following:

OBGYN Endocrinologist Nephrologist Orthopedist
Neuro Surgeon

Other services available to our patients through our community partners are diabetic education and nutrition counseling, physical therapy, pulmonary screening, and counseling services.

Prescriptions
Qualifying patients may participate in our prescription programs, which enables our patients to obtain a three-month supply of some medications for a nominal fee. The Mission works with more than 15 pharmaceutical companies to fill more than 400 prescriptions for our patients each month.

Dental
For many of our patients, affordable dental care is a pressing need, and if left untreated, may lead to further dental and medical condition complications. Our Dental Clinic employs a full-time dentist and two dental assistants who treat about 10 patients each day. Services offered include extractions, fillings, and limited preventative care services through a partner program with Howard College dental hygiene students.

*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I had fallen off a roof and lost my foot, they did surgery and put it back on. I have rods and pins in it. It practically stays swollen all the time and hurts me all the time.
