The dental clinic only provides extractions and cleanings for patients. The goal of the program is to treat those patients most at risk for serious health concerns due to teeth needing to be removed, and proper dental hygiene.

Schedule

No controlled medications can be dispensed
Specialized Referrals
If a patient requires treatment or assessment not able to be provided through the clinic's volunteer physicians, we may refer to local specialists who have agreed to treat our patients in their offices.

Every Tuesday evening.
Call for correct time.

Every 3rd Thursday morning by appointment.

Admission forms are completed during the patient's first visit.

Established patients receive appointments.


Pharmacy Services
People who do not work and can meet financial eligibility criteria may qualify to receive free prescription medication from the community pharmacy.

Generally, those who receive services from the community pharmacy have their own primary care provider or receive treatment through Huey P. Long Hospital

The community pharmacy may also assist persons with a one-time fill. With proper identification, a 30-day supply of medication may be dispensed until such time that the person can be admitted into either the medical clinic or the community pharmacy.

Patients meeting eligibility criteria may submit prescriptions and request refills:

Monday and Wednesdsay
8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Closed over the noon hour

Working people and their families who can meet financial eligibility guidelines.
Must provide proof of no health insurance.
Must be looking for employment. Will receive a 5-month automatic eligibility.

People who receive disability
People who are involved in a lawsuit involving a medical issue
People who do not work

A patient of either the medical clinic or the community pharmacy
Veterans who meet financial eligibility guidelines and do not have routine dental coverage.

Who Qualifies for the Community Pharmacy?

Unemployed persons
Homeless persons referred by a social service agency
Residents of a drug and alcohol treatment facility
Special needs children
Persons experiencing an emergency situation
Persons who are in the donut hole of the Part D Prescription Drug Program of Medicare
Persons receiving disability
Persons who receive Medicare A & B but have no prescription drug coverage

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
