  • Providing quality healthcare to low income & uninsured patients.

  • Matthews Free Medical Clinic is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corp. that provides free, quality healthcare to low income, uninsured patients of Matthews, NC and surrounding areas, including Mecklenburg and Union Counties.

  • MFMC primarily relies on volunteers to carry out our mission. We currently have multiple volunteer providers, in addition to the medical director. The clinic provides acute and chronic primary care, women's clinics, psychiatry clinics, orthopedic clinics and pharmacy clinics. MFMC is a nonprofit organization funded by grants, private donations and two annual fundraisers.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Matthews Free Medical Clinic is to provide free, quality healthcare to the uninsured, low-income individuals and families living in Matthews, NC and the surrounding areas of Mecklenburg & Union Counties.

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
