At New River Health we're available to care for the whole family through all stages of life. As a multi-specialty practice we can often serve you with back to back appointments for your checkup, your child's well-child exam and an appointment for an aging parent. We see adults at all of our main locations and many of our school health sites including Mount Hope Elementary, Valley School-Based Health and Summersville School-Based Health Center. Our adult healthcare services include:
Chronic disease management
Hospitalization and nursing home care
Mental health assessments and counseling
Group medical visits
For regular care, follow-up visits or urgent care (immediate medical care) please call and you will be given an appointment as soon as possible, many times the same day you call.
Fees and Payment
New River Health Association (NRHA) accepts private insurance, private pay, Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP and Tricare. If you are with a managed health plan please check with us to be sure we participate with your plan. If you are uninsured, underinsured or out of work we will work with you to arrange a method of payment for services on a sliding scale according to income.
Cost should not prevent you from receiving care. New River Health Associaton (NRHA) also provides free and reduced cost services through public health programs including family planning, children's health services, breast and cervical cancer screening and black lung clinic services.
When you come for your appointment bring your insurance card (private, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.) and be prepared to pay co-payments for services not covered by your insurance.
Since this is a sliding fee scale clinic, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the North Fayette Family Health Center website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care.
Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2022
|Persons In Family Household||Poverty Guideline Salary per year|
For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
