COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information for Patients
Contact your healthcare provider by phone before coming to a clinic or hospital if you meet the following criteria:
Symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath and
Travel to countries with coronavirus alerts within 14 days of onset of symptoms or
Contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19 within 14 days of onset of systems
This clinic operates under a SLIDING SCALE model. This means that it MAY NOT be free depending on your income. You will be required to prove financial need in order to receive free services or services at a reduced cost. This is a health care center funded by the federal government. This means even if you have no insurance you can be covered. The center is also income based for those making an income. This health center can cover services such as checkups, treatment, pregnancy care (where applicable), immunizations and child care (where applicable), prescription medicine and mental and substance abuse where applicable. Canon Kip Senior Center (705 Natoma St.) provides a hot lunch and fellowship to low-income elders 60 years and older. Approximately one quarter of program participants is currently homeless. In addition to a meal, the Center offers exercise classes, support groups, nutrition workshops, occasional field trips, and the opportunity to read the paper or play cards. Appointments can be made to see a case manager.
Canon Kip Senior Center is open from 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
Frail Elderly: Case managers are available to help elderly people access services, such as in home health care, help with budgeting, and other help with daily living.
Homeless Seniors: Seniors need to be referred from an appropriate service provider, a shelter case manager or a county social worker, for example. Case managers help homeless seniors find affordable housing and access to needed services so that they are better equipped to retain housing.
