CFC responded to the increasing demand for emergency shelter for women and children by opening Sanctuary House in 2002. The former apartment building was completely renovated to provide both emergency and transitional housing. This shelter is handicapped accessible, making it a wonderful addition to the emergency housing options in our community. Adjoining rooms can be configured as suites to allow large families to be accommodated together. Our goal is to provide homeless families and individuals with shelter while helping to move them into permanent housing.
There is no cost to the client if placed by DHS. Self-referrals and referrals from another program are considered on a case by case basis, and the fee is based on a sliding scale as appropriate.
