Covenant House Inc. is committed to provide comprehensive health services, primarily to individuals and families residing in the Greater Germantown communities and Northwest Philadelphia. These services will be provided without discrimination and with careful attention to physical, social and emotional health.
No one will be denied medical services due to an inability to pay. A sliding fee scale is available, based on family income and size. During the registration process you will be advised if you are eligible for a reduced fee.
Payments from Major Medical, Medicaid, Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield or private insurance are accepted.
Serving the Germantown and the northwest areas of Philadelphia since 1964, Covenant House's two locations are federally qualified health centers and thus receive federal funding to directly subsidize their costs. No one is ever turned away, regardless of their ability to pay, but patients need to make an appointment first and provide insurance and income information. Delivering attentive, comprehensive primary care is the group's hallmark, serving the needs of young and old alike with everything from pediatric and geriatric medicine to prenatal care and behavioral health. Preventative care is assured as well and includes school-related vaccinations, flu shots and periodic check-ups.
Since this is a sliding fee scale clinic, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Mt. Pleasant Medical Center - Covenant House website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care.
|Persons In Family Household||Poverty Guideline Salary per year|
For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I have been to this clinic.I had women's health issues. This clinic was not free. I paid full price. The staff was unfriendly. I waited less than 30 minutes The senior doctor at this facility, Dr. NAME WITHELD, has lost her sense of what the Covenant House mission is. She is very rude and arrogant and she does not care about the people she took a professional oath to serve. My experience with her has been that she does not take time to let the patient speak and represent what is happening. She speaks unprofessionally and as though she is not there for you. She told me that she could sit in her office all day with no patients and still make good money and that I could go get another doctor. That's exactly what I will do. She has no compassion for her patients. I would tell anyone that has a choice and does not need to rely on low income health care to go elsewhere. If Covenant House Health Services allows their doctors to treat patients like this and to violate the trust that patients put in them, then they no longer deserve the funding that they receive. Just because people are poor should not mean that they receive services with an unhealthy dose of disrespect.
