Medical Services:
The Angels Community Clinic fills a critical gap by providing free basic medical care to the working, uninsured of Calloway County. This clinic provides services in the Medical, Dental and Pharmacy areas.
Free medical services are provided to eligible patients at the Angels
Community Clinic on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday by appointment. New
patients are advised to call ahead and schedule appointment time. After
completing the screening process, patients see a nurse for a general
assessment, and the doctor or nurse practitioners begin seeing
patients. Medical services at the Clinic include physical assessment and
examination, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic
illnesses. Prescribed medications are provided to patients on Tuesdays
through the pharmacy. These medications are dispensed to patients at no
charge; however, patients will need to continue to provide income
verification so that office staff can order more medications to stock
the pharmacy. Bills acquired before becoming a patient, or received
from referrals outside the Clinic will be the responsibility of the
patient. However, a patient that is referred by the Clinic for a
service can apply for a grant through the Clinic if the expense becomes
overwhelming. Routine lab services (for cholesterol checks, etc.) are
done on Thursday morning beginning at 9 A.M. for established
patients. Blood pressure and pulse checks can be done anytime during
office hours, Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The Angels Community Clinic operates on on-site, licensed pharmacy on
Tuesday evenings. Patients needing refills are advised to call in their
refill order by Friday at 5:00 to be filled the following Tuesday.
Refill orders are filled on Tuesday evenings when pharmacy staff are
present, and patients can pick refills up on Wednesdays from 8:30 A.M.
to 4:00 P.M. and Thursdays from 8:30 till Noon. No refills will be
given out on Tuesday evenings. The pharmacy stocks a wide variety of
medications, however, if there is a medication that is not in stock and
deemed necessary, the patient will be given a written prescription and
advised to take it to Walter's Pharmacy, who provides medications to
Clinic patients at cost. If funds are available, the Clinic will cover
the cost of such medication. The Clinic does NOT stock narcotics, and
prescriptions will not be written for narcotic medications. Patients
needing a prescription for a narcotic medication should either go to the
Emergency Room or seek treatment elsewhere.
Since this is a sliding fee scale clinic, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Angels Community Clinic website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care.

---|---|
1 | $12,880 |

4 | $26,500 |
5 | $31,040 |
6 | $35,580 |

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free services from some clinics, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
